Must have kit.

A pair of these crash bars was the first thing I fitted to my 3CV when I got it in 2009. In 2013 a friend dropped my bike at around 35 mph whilst negotiating a bend. According to her, there were 'Lots of pretty sparks' as the bike slid across the road and in to the banking.
They also protected the ignition signal cover (Half the thickness of the bar was ground away), and held the bike up off Linda's leg, allowing the bike to slide away from her, leaving her unharmed. For that last bit I'd rate these as priceless.

I have a set protecting my 86' FJ1200. I had a low side over 15 years ago and the case damage put my bike out of service. I have seen first hand how the bars protect the critical parts of the engine and allowed the bike to be ridden home. I have also seen the bars mounted for freeway pegs, camera mounts, horns and extra lights. They are well made and install easy.

These things do a great job of distributing the weight of the bike and keeping things like foot pegs, brake and shift levers, and engine covers from being damaged in a slide. DEFINITELY A MUST HAVE if you go down...
